Grayson Perry in conversation with UAL students and staff

UAL students and staff are invited to exchange ideas with Turner Prize-winner Grayson Perry in an informal Q&A session.

The artist is the star of the first UAL: meets event – a series of conversations open excusively to people who study and work at University of the Arts London

UAL: meets Grayson Perry takes place at 4pm on Wednesday 18 April in the Studio Theatre, King’s Cross.

**UPDATE – the event is now booked up but you can still add your name to the waiting list**

You can put your question to Grayson on the day or in advance either on Twitter (#UALmeets) or when you sign up for the event.

The Hare With Amber Eyes

A brilliant book about one special netsuke collection.

Paperback Edition
Published by Vintage Books,
January 2011

‘How things are made, how they are handled and what happens to them has been central to my life for over thirty years. So too has Japan, a place I went to when I was 17 to study pottery. How objects embody memory – or more particularly, whether objects can hold memories – is a real question for me. This book is my journey to the places in which this collection lived. It is my secret history of touch.’

Graphic Designer wanted

We are looking for a Graphic Designer to create a book cover/typography/layout.

The book will contain visual material generated by the Play Japanese project, which was part of the Grayson Perry Late event at the British Museum. It’s a student led project, therefore there’s no fee. However we offer creative freedom, exposure and an addition to your portfolio!

Something playful that would represent the spirit of the project. Think fine art + fashion + Japanese pop culture.

Interested? Please reply by 17 January 2012

‘Thank you’

A massive thanks to everybody that helped out on Friday night, the evening was a huge success and the turn out was incredible.

The British Museum has estimated approx. 4000 visitors, which means we’ve helped to create the most successful Late event the BM have ever staged!

We have had an incredible journey the past few months that culminated in a fantastic night.

Photos from the night in the Grayson Perry Late section!
